About the Owner
Established in Hermanus in 2002 and under new ownership since May 2015. Owner managed by M.J. (Org) May, who boasts a 35-year track record and experience in the Auto Body Repair and Automotive Paint Business. After completing two years of compulsory national service in the SANDF his career started with a South African JSE listed company.
From back-office functions he progressed to Sales and Operations Manager of the Pretoria operation at age 26. At the age of 33, Org progressed to the position of Regional Sales and Operations Manager. During this time he was responsible for the company’s "Northern Region" which included the Pretoria, Johannesburg and Nelspruit Sales operations.
Org was appointed as the Managing Director of a listed company at the age of 40. After a very successful 5 years at the helm Org left the company at the end of February 2013 to start his own business. Today, Org lives in the beautiful and quaint town of Hermanus in the Western Cape. Org has played an invaluable role in the growth of Quantum Coachworks from its humble beginnings as a small business in 2015 to the world-class auto body repair and automotive paint business it is today. Quantum has earned numerous vehicle manufacturer approvals in the past 8 years and has received multiple awards from major insurance companies and car manufacturers alike.
Org is still very involved in the day-to-day running of his business. He, however, also makes time to enjoy the beauty of Hermanus by playing golf and exploring the Overberg on his Adventure Motorbike and Toyota 4x4.
